We’re still here

We’re still open for urgent problems and treatments. Call us before attending on 020 3315 5656. If possible we’ll deal with your issue over the phone. For the latest information visit the 56 Dean Street website.

We’re still open for:

  • Discharge from your penis or anus
  • Blisters or ulcers on your penis or anus
  • Treatments for gonorrhoea/chlamydia/syphilis
  • New HIV diagnoses
  • Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)

Please bear with us. Lots of our team are working on the wards. We may take longer than usual to answer the phone and emails.
You can still have a routine STI check-up by ordering a home test kit from our partners at SHL by clicking this link.

Changes to PrEP services

We’re still determined to get London down to zero HIV infections. We’re not going to let COVID-19 get in the way. That’s why we’re making some temporary changes to our PrEP services.
You can still get PrEP from us if you’re having condomless anal sex. However, you may prefer to switch to ‘event based’ dosing so that your supply lasts longer. Watch the video above for more information.
If you’re not having sex at the moment, why not stop PrEP for a while? Make sure you take at least 2 daily doses after your last condomless anal sex risk.

IMPACT Study

We’re switching to telephone follow up. Most people will not need to attend the clinic. If you’re running out of PrEP, email: prep.deanstreet@chelwest.nhs.uk. Please include your name, mobile phone and clinic number. We’ll call you back and complete your IMPACT follow up over the phone. We still recommend 3 monthly HIV testing. Order a home test kit here. Please bring the results with you on your next clinic visit.

You’ll have 2 options to get your meds:

  • Collect the package from Dean Street Express
  • We can mail them to your home. (Royal Mail is currently taking up to 3 weeks)

Please only contact us if you are having condomless anal sex AND have less than 4 weeks of meds left.

PrEP Shop

We’re still running a skeleton service. New users still need to walk into Dean Street Express so they can sign the paperwork. However, if you are already registered with PrEP Shop you can email us to request a further 3 month supply without coming into the clinic for tests. Email: prep.shop@chelwest.nhs.uk.

We will call you and give you the option to pay over the phone. You have the choice to pick up the meds from the clinic or to have them sent to you in the post. (Royal Mail is currently taking up to 3 weeks).

NHS Funded PrEP

The launch of NHS funded PrEP has been delayed because of the COVID-19 outbreak. However, it should be available before the IMPACT Study closes in October. We will let you know once more information is available.
