Introducing 2 new ways to have a routine check-up

We know Dean Street Express can get busy. That’s why we’ve introduced 2 new options for your routine sexually transmitted infection screen.

  • You can walk into 56 Dean Street and pick up a home test pack from ground floor reception
  • If you prefer you can get an ‘SHL’ self test pack mailed to your home here.
  • Alternatively you can still walk into Dean Street Express and show your PRIME text

If you are taking PrEP, we still need to see you in person.

If you may have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours and you think you need PEP. You can walk straight into 56 Dean Street without an appointment. Arrive as early in the day as possible and go straight to Level 1 reception. PEP is an anti-HIV medication that is prescribed to a HIV negative person, within 72 hours of potential exposure to HIV. Ideally, it should be started within 24 hours. It needs to be taken for 28 days. A&E departments are able to start PEP when the clinic is closed.

PEP is recommended if there is a greater than 1 in 1000 chance of catching HIV. Check our PEP calculator to work out if you need it.
